| After dominating National Youth Championships, the 200m Freestyle National Champion Sophie Smith re-wrote the Regional Junior record books at the British Gas Swimming Grand Prix in Leeds. Sophie Smashed no less than 6 Regional Short Course Junior Records over the 4 day event. Competing against the British and Canadian World Championship and Tri Nation Teams, Sophie claimed the 100m/200m/400m Freestyle, 50m Butterfly, and 100m/200m Ind.medley records. Sophie can now boost a total of 8 Short Course and 3 Long Course Regional Junior Records to her name. During the meet Sophie also swam under the British Junior Short Course 200m Ind.medley Record.
